“O Oceanário Sul, de Esteio, será uma das maiores atrações durante a Copa 2014"

O Ocenário Sul, gigantesco complexo que será implantado em Esteio, Região Metropolitana de Porto Alegre, terá papel fundamental para a infra-estrutura turística do Rio Grande do Sul durante a realização da Copa 2014.

Porto Alegre e seu entorno terão grandes investimentos, como o complexo do Beira Rio e a nova Arena do Grêmio, algumas linhas do aeromóvel, melhorias na infra-estrutura geral das cidades. Por sua vez, o Oceanário Sul entrará como a maior atração de todo o Estado, sendo previsto aproximadamente 3 milhões de visitantes anuais. Somente o Oceanário será responsável pelo acréscimo de 500 mil novos turistas no RS.

O complexo turístico, que reunirá um conjunto de aquários com mais de 5 milhões de litros d’água, a torre panorâmica com 290m de altura, hotel, shopping center temático e centro de convenções, estará aberto durante os 365 dias do ano. Ao contrário da serra gaúcha, que é atração somente nos meses de inverno, o complexo atrairá turistas o ano inteiro, não havendo sazonalidade. Ao contrário, irá possibilitar uma significativa movimentaçâo na rede hoteleira na Região. As estatísticas apontam para mais de 450 mil pessoas que passam por aqui com destino ao litoral e a outros estados nos meses de verão e nem descem do carro. Uma atração desse nível irá motivar esses viajantes a fazerem uma pausa para visitar o Oceanário e gastarão em bares e restaurantes. O Oceanário vai proporcionar também uma “nova onda“ de visitantes de no mínimo um dia e de pelo menos um pernoite durante o ano inteiro às cidades da região.

O Oceanário Sul, atualmente, está em fase de estudos por parte do Governo do Estado para sua implantação em Esteio, ao lado do Parque de Exposições Assis Brasil.
